The People. The Place.

I'm Ashley. I’m from Las Cruces. Born and raised in the great state of New Mexico. I'm an art-lover and mother of 3 young artists. I founded Wet Paint studio as a way to reach children and families and share the love of art making and creative processes with the Las Cruces community. I received a Masters Degree in Art Education from Texas Woman's University. I am certified in New Mexico to teach Pre-K through 12th grade visual arts. My art teaching experience started with  teaching Elementary Art in Dallas, TX. A move back to Las Cruces in 2009 provided me the opportunity to teach private art classes for toddlers and pre schoolers in Las Cruces. I find joy in fostering a love of art and creative processes in children and families. Cheers!

Instructor-Tauna M. Cole-Dorn, M.F.A Painting

Tauna M. Cole-Dorn, owner of ‘Art Paper Scissors’ offers art classes at Wet Paint Art Studio. Tauna is a professor in the art department at NMSU. She has been a working and teaching artist for almost 30 years. She has taught kids ages 3-17 in art through the museums, private lessons and through art camps that she offers in the community. “My philosophy stems from the belief that we are all creative beings and it takes on so many different guises. It’s so important that we nurture, support and have environments where kids can create, explore, discover and develop their personal expression. Through the act of creating, we discover who we are as individuals and become more confident with ourselves”.

Instructor-Nancy Clemons
